Nate's log.
Date: unknown
Location: unknown.

I've got another lead.

A few days ago, Norah was called to a children's mental hospital. The reason was because she had received a report of a supposed demon possession that might have been linked to her Soul Carnival trail. No word on how it turned out, but she's traveling again, so it was probably a false report. While she was there, though, she sent some information regarding another patient.

He's 20, old enough to be moved to a different hospital, but it's a very small town, with the nearest adult hospital being a nearly five hour drive away. The other problem is, he doesn't seem to have any living family. No parents or guardians, no relatives. Also strange, Norah said that no one knew what his real name is. He's officially known as "patient 56," but the nurses call him Chester (No wonder they don't want to waste the resources and hassel of moving him). No other data was given, but she assured me that he was well worth the visit. I tried asking for more information, but she said she was far too busy, and couldn't risk losing the Carnival's trail. she did give me the address and a phone number.

I contacted them, told them one of my associates had referred me to them. They were expecting my call. They were very friendly, and encouraged me to see him. I asked for more information. She seemed a little uneasy about telling me about him, but she complied all the same.

He had first been found two years ago, by some of the local campers. He was a mess- cold and shaking, huddled beneath a tree. His clothes had been very worn and torn up in spots. Not to mention extremely pale. They had a very hard time getting him to the hospital, for every time someone tried to approach him, he would wildly lash out at them, and attempt to hurt them. He was eventually sedated by a medical team and taken in. Nobody seemed to know anything about him. It was as if he simply cropped out of the ground one morning. Very strange. He seems to function well enough on his own, except that he often refuses to eat, and has, for the entire two years he's stayed, remained a mute. It wasn't that he couldn't speak- when he attacked the campers, he would shout unintelligible gibberish, but after that he never spoke again.

It's a very strange case, no doubt, but I'm not all that sure tat it has to do with my dilemma. Norah's always been very helpful in our past endeavors, and I don't have any reason not to trust her judgment. I've agreed to visit, and should be there in a couple days, assuming we don't have any problems.

In other news, David's been off seeing some new recruits. I was a little apprehensive about letting in more people, but he seems very confident in them, and has assured me that they'll be a great help in the future. I look foreword to seeing them when I'm done with this case.
Innocence died when they took his mind
And they tried to leave him behind...

An introduction, of sorts. Decided to take on a small project relating to a certain tall and skinny fellow. Slender, if you will. n.n

It also ties in to another project I've yet to title or do much of anything with other than write up a few characters, and mull about with various ideas. Not sure how long this little Story Arc will be. Probably not very.

And, I have admit, :iconpuga-caput:'s "I posses you with an offer" has greatly influenced me on the way I see Masky and Slendy's... relationship. n.n
